Whether or not the party system has failed or not is debatable.
Personally I enjoy it. It allows me to keep local/trade turned off at all times and still find the things I want.

Already cluttered window? It's in the same spot that the "enter mission" button is in Tyria.

I don't see why they should go through all this trouble just to remove it after having it temporarily. If you don't use it, then don't use it. It's not covering half the screen. Quit being so stupid.

I like the search. I can grab henches with out having to hunt them in town. I can also switch heros as I want. So no I dont think they should take them away, thank you sir and good day sir.

You do realise that you only get to even see that button only when you're in town right?

what they all said, and i even help people on some quests that are listed if i'm bored and i can multi-advertise items into other districts.
people just have to use it more and they need to make the text length longer

I think the party search feature is useful, and a lot of people use it in the more active towns. However, it tends to be neglected in mission outposts. I think more reason needs to be given for it's use. For example, making it the only way to invite human players would mean more people use it AND players who are not there for the mission will not get invitations from all directions.

Party Search was there before the button, they only added it to try and get people to use it, which they dont... so there is no need to have the button.

Cluttered party window?
Hardly! 8 player names, a kick, leave and search button. Wow, thats cluttered! How ever do we manage.
The search feature has been around a grand total of a month. FFS give it a chance to get going. You cant expect 2 year long players to change their ways in just a few weeks. It will take new players to come in and start using it, to incourages others.
If you move between all 3 campaigns, you'l see some places are using quite alot. It isnt doing any harm being there. It can only be a benefit. If you dont like it, then dont use it.
Anet needs to get a system in place to train people to use it, during the training sections. Then it will get used too.

I hope in the future the party search is made a little more advanced.
I remember in Everquest 2 we had the ability to search all over for specific professions and levels.
I'd often get tells(whispers) while I was putzing around my inn room for a group out in the middle of nowhere asking if I wanted to help out. (I was a healer, so a lot of tells asking for help! :O)
It was cool to be able to search all over the world for people to help by choosing specific categories for what you are looking for before pressing search.
First the devs would need to add /lfg as a title to display showing you are looking for group and the search results would only show /lfg tagged people after you selected the profession, level range and type of adventuring you were going out to do. From my experience in EQ2 it is a very good system that Guild Wars should adopt. It makes looking for groups very easy and productive.

Party/Trade search could be more useful if more characters per line are allowed. As of right now it is what, 30? Thus people are using old way so they can advertise in detail and more then one item.
Otherwise I think it is a great feature.
And again, if somebody does not like it, do not use it :-)

It can be useful for trade. But make the button text white instead of yellow. Then it fits better into the theme colours.

Is the button really THAT annoying? I hardly even notice it... And don't give me the "People don't use it".. Have you asked every single person looking for a group if they use it?

Get rid of the Menu button too! [/sarcasm]
Seriously, it's a small button on your party menu. What's so bad about it?

If you dont like it, hit "P" on your keyboard and that whole annoying box disappears.
Again lets please have A-net focus on important issues.
PS. I like how you think the party system has failed and that based on your sole opinion that something be changed.
PSS. I dont see a suggestion here, just a demand based on bad information.

*shrugs*
I've had nothing but success with it. For both trades and PUGs it works exactly as it was intended. Maybe people aren't flocking to use it like they did when the mats storage was added, but as far as I see the only people that might not want it available are trade spammers & blind/random inviters. And if those folks find it annoying...well, ummmm, bummer for them.
